Based on the Gold Coast, QLD, John oversees operations in Queensland and New South Wales. John finds stocktaking always interesting because no two jobs are the same and enjoys working at Associated Stocktaking with a great bunch of people.

Originally from New Zealand and then living on the Gold Coast, John worked in Western Australia for five years before returning to the Gold Coast. In his leisure time, he enjoys speed inline skating.

Martin Goodall

Originally from the UK, Martin moved to Australia in 1998 and has since become a dedicated Stocktaking Specialist at Associated Stocktaking. With a rich background that includes owning a newsagency before transitioning to stocktaking, Martin brings a unique perspective to the team.
For Martin, the best part about stocktaking is the supportive environment at Associated Stocktaking. The staff and management are always willing to help out both their team and customers, creating a positive workplace. On the flip side, the worst part is dealing with disorganized, messy stores—especially in freezers, where counting can become particularly challenging.
Throughout the years, Martin has encountered some surprising finds during stocktakes, including a dusty bottle of wine worth $800 that had been stored upright instead of laying down as it should have been. It’s these unexpected discoveries that keep the job interesting.
When it comes to life in Australia, Martin has noticed a few amusing differences compared to life back in the UK. One in particular? The beer in Australia is often too cold and lacking in taste, though the rise of craft beers has improved the selection. Additionally, Australians tend to be more blunt and straightforward, which stands in contrast to the more measured politeness of the English.
Outside of work, Martin enjoys an active lifestyle with hobbies like snorkeling, swimming, cycling, and capturing photography and drone videos of Perth’s beautiful landscapes. They also regularly attend the gym and practice yoga weekly. Although not currently part of any local sports teams, their love for the outdoors keeps them constantly on the move.
A fan of good literature, Martin recently enjoyed Jasper Jones by Craig Silvey, a mystery novel set in Western Australia. They’re also a fan of thought-provoking quotes, one favorite being from Doctor Who: “The Universe shows its true face when it asks for help. We show ours by how we respond.” It’s a quote that resonates deeply and offers a moment of reflection.
Though currently taking a break from singing, Martin used to be part of the Perth Male Voice Choir. Their journey into stocktaking began after selling their newsagency, realizing they were too young to retire, and finding a new passion in helping businesses streamline their inventory.
